The City of Hoboken, Department of Parks has been a big supporter of the Hoboken Cove Boathouse, and our first Boathouse will be located in the new Hoboken Cove Park.


The Downtown Boathouse runs free kayaking programs across the river in New York City. Many of our volunteers are current and former members of the Downtown Boathouse, and we have patterned a number of our programs after the programs they run.


Floating the Apple runs boat building and rowing programs throughout the New York Harbor. They are planning an installation in Hoboken, and we look forward to seeing them on the water with us.


Friends of Brook Park is a coalition of residents, parents, educators, workers, home and business owners and community based organizations in the South Bronx dedicated to managing and revitalizing an important and unique open green space.


HobokenParks.org is an informative website that describes park and open space issues in and around Hoboken.


Metropolitan Waterfront Alliance works through education, grassroots organizing and media advocacy to include the public's voice and values in the decision-making that will determine the future of our region's waterfront and waterways.

Hoboken Kayaking Day - Sunday, June 7 - 9am-1pm

Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse will host the first Summer 2009 Family Kayaking Day at the Maxwell Place Boathouse on Sunday, June 7 from 9am – 1pm.

Hoboken Boathouse – in partnership with the City of Hoboken and Downtown Boathouse of New York City – has sponsored free kayaking in Hoboken for the past six years, serving over 3,100 paddlers. The Hoboken Boathouse is a non-profit organization supported by volunteers, boathouse space from the City of Hoboken, and borrowed kayaking equipment from the Downtown Boathouse.

Kayaking Days offer a unique opportunity for Hoboken residents and visitors to experience the city from the Hudson River. The programs are free, open to all, and, require no reservations. Trained kayakers will be on-hand to provide tips for new paddlers. The boathouse is located in Maxwell Place Park near the intersection of Sinatra Drive and Maxwell Place (metered parking is available on the east side of Sinatra Drive).

In addition to this weekend, Hoboken Boathouse will sponsor programs on the following dates:

Sunday, June 14, 11am-3pm
Saturday, July 11, 10am-2pm
Saturday, July 25, 10am-2pm
Saturday, August 15, 1pm-5pm
