The City of Hoboken, Department of Parks has been a big supporter of the Hoboken Cove Boathouse, and our first Boathouse will be located in the new Hoboken Cove Park.


The Downtown Boathouse runs free kayaking programs across the river in New York City. Many of our volunteers are current and former members of the Downtown Boathouse, and we have patterned a number of our programs after the programs they run.


Floating the Apple runs boat building and rowing programs throughout the New York Harbor. They are planning an installation in Hoboken, and we look forward to seeing them on the water with us.


Friends of Brook Park is a coalition of residents, parents, educators, workers, home and business owners and community based organizations in the South Bronx dedicated to managing and revitalizing an important and unique open green space.


HobokenParks.org is an informative website that describes park and open space issues in and around Hoboken.


Metropolitan Waterfront Alliance works through education, grassroots organizing and media advocacy to include the public's voice and values in the decision-making that will determine the future of our region's waterfront and waterways.

Free Kayaking Day - September 7th

Dear supporters of the Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse:

The Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse (HCCB) will sponsor a Free Kayaking Day at the Maxwell Place Boathouse (located near the intersection of Frank Sinatra Drive and Maxwell Place) this weekend on Sunday, September 7th from 10AM-2PM.

The City of Hoboken has kindly given us permission to store some boats in the Maxwell Place Park Boathouse. We have borrowed ten boats from the Downtown Boathouse in NYC for the remainder of the season. Given our limited resources, the programs will be necessarily small, but a lot of fun. So please come and/or tell your friends.

We also need volunteers to run our programs. So feel free to stop by and help out for a few hours. You do not need to sign up to volunteer. All you need to do is show up, and help out in a friendly and safe manner. There will be volunteers on hand who can show you what to do.

For all those planning to kayak, please come prepared to get a little wet, and please leave all valuables at home. The free kayaking runs from 10AM-2PM, but please arrive by 1PM to allow time for registration and instructions.

The free kayaking will be canceled if the weather is unsuitable.  If in doubt, call 610.780.2395 or check HCCB in the morning for a status message.
