Free Kayaking Day - August 23rd

Dear supporters of the Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse:

On this coming Saturday, August 23rd the Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse (HCCB) will run our first free public kayaking program in the Maxwell Place Park Boathouse (located near the intersection of Frank Sinatra Drive and Maxwell Place) from 1-5 PM.

The City of Hoboken has kindly given us permission to store some boats in the Maxwell Place Park Boathouse.  We have borrowed ten boats from the Downtown Boathouse in NYC for the season, and are now ready to go.

This is the first time that we have used the new boathouse, and we are very enthusiastic because it makes it much easier for us to offer free kayaking. Given our limited resources, the program will be necessarily small, but it should be a lot of fun. So please come and/or tell your friends.

We also need volunteers to run our programs.  So feel free to stop by and help out for a few hours. You do not need to sign up to volunteer.  All you need to do is show up, and help out in a friendly and safe manner. There will be volunteers on hand who can show you what to do. Please come prepared to get a little wet, and please leave all valuables at home. The free kayaking starts at 1PM, but we will be at the boathouse at 12:30PM in order to setup. Feel free to come anytime.

The free kayaking will be canceled if the weather is unsuitable.  If in doubt, call (201) 963-0071 in the morning on Saturday for a status message.

Happy and safe paddling.
